He played for the Athletics in 1954, Athletics in 1955 and Yankees in 1960. Over 3 seasons, he played 131 games, hit 2 home runs, drove in 31 runs, and stole 0 bases. Born on July 31, 1927 in Pottstown, PA, Shantz stood 6' 1" and weighed 160 lb. He attended Pottstown (Pottstown, PA) high school. His debut was on April 13, 1954 and he played his final game on June 29, 1960. Common misspellings of his name include Wilmer billie Billy Ebert schantz Shantz.
