About Billy Rogell:
Billy Rogell (full name: William George Rogell; no nicknames) played shortstop, third baseman and second baseman from 1931 until 1940 for the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs. He played for the Tigers from 1931 - 1939 and Cubs in 1940. Over 14 seasons, he played 1482 games, hit 42 home runs, drove in 755 runs, and stole 82 bases. Born on November 24, 1904 in Springfield, IL, Rogell stood 5' 10" and weighed 163 lb. He attended Fenger Academy (Chicago, IL) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 14, 1925 and he played his final game on August 25, 1940. Common misspellings of his name include William billie Billy George Rogell.
