Billy Hunter (full name: Gordon William Hunter; no nicknames) played shortstop, second baseman and third baseman from 1953 until 1958 for the St. Louis Browns, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics and Cleveland Indians. He played for the Browns in 1953, Orioles in 1954, Yankees from 1955 - 1956, Athletics from 1957 - 1958 and Indians in 1958. Over 6 seasons, he played 630 games, hit 16 home runs, drove in 166 runs, and stole 23 bases. Born on June 4, 1928 in Punxsutawney, PA, Hunter stands 6' 0" and weighs 180 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 14, 1953 and he played his final game on September 27, 1958. Common misspellings of his name include Gordon billie Billy William Hunter.
