William Theodore “Bill” Walton III was a retired television sportscaster and basketball player who was born on the 5th of November 1952. Known as “Big Red-Head,” Walton has achieved superstardom when he played for the UCLA Bruins, the powerhouse of John Wooden way back in early 1970s. This was when he won three consecutive College Player of the Year Award. That marked the start of his bright NBA career although it was hampered by Walton’s multiple foot injuries. Same with John Stockton, Walton was also elected on the 10th of May 1993 to the Basketball Hall of Fame and in the same year also, to the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame. Walton is also the proud father of Los Angeles Lakers’ current forward, Luke Walton.
Born in La Mesa in California, Walton was the son of William Theodore “Ted” Walton and Gloria Anne.
