Bill Fischer who was born in March 10, 1927 is part of the American football offensive lineman in the National Football League. NFL is known as the highest level of professional American football. It started in 1920, just beginning with eleven teams in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association. Soon in 1922, the name was changed to National Football League. In the United States, it is comprised of thirty-two teams. This league has two conferences — the American Football Conference (AFC) and National Football Conference (NFC), and it is one of the most sought after domestic sports league in the world. Bill Fischer's position is that of a Tackle or Guard. Schools he attended include Notre Dame, and while in High school, he was part of the Lane Technical HS in Chicago. Fischer also served as a reserve lineman in Notre Dame during his first year there in 1945. On the three seasons, he was beginning only as a left guard but in 1948, he was the best interior lineman of the nation by Outland Trophy. According to sources, by 1948 he became the coach for Notre Dame team and assistant coach from 1949 to 1953. In 1949, he was hailed as the Most Valuable Player in the College All-Star Game. Professionally, he also played with the Chicago Cardinals.

 

Fisher is nicknamed as "Moose" and in 1949, Chicago Cardinals chose him as part of their team and by 1951 to 1952, he was All-Pro.

Bill Fischer (full name: William Charles Fischer; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1956 until 1964 for the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, Kansas City Athletics and Minnesota Twins. He played for the White Sox from 1956 - 1958, Tigers from 1958 - 1961, Senators from 1958 - 1960, Athletics from 1961 - 1963 and Twins in 1964. Over 9 seasons, he started 78 games, won 45 games, struck out 313 batters, and had a 4.34 ERA. Born on October 11, 1930 in Wausau, WI, Fischer stands 6' 0" and weighs 190 lb. He attended high school.
