Ballplayer Bill Fahey was born William Roger Fahey on June 14, 1950 in Detroit Michigan. Fahey played in Major League Baseball as a catcher for the Washington Senators, San Diego Padres and the Detroit Tigers. He is the father of famous MLB utility player Brandon Fahey. Fahey played for the Washington Senators in 1971 to 1972 and 1974 to 1977. He later transferred to the San Diego Padres in 1979-1980 and then to the Detroit Tigers in 1983.

 

Fahey was able to play in Major League Baseball for eleven seasons. Among all those seasons, he was able to perform his best during the 1979 season while playing for the San Diego Padres. During that season, Fahey had a hitting percentage of .287, had three home runs and batted in 73 games. During the 1980 season, Fahey played in 93 games, made 62 hits, and 18 runs.

He played for the Senators in 1971, Rangers from 1972 - 1977, Padres from 1979 - 1980 and Tigers from 1981 - 1983. Over 11 seasons, he played 383 games, hit 7 home runs, drove in 75 runs, and stole 9 bases. Born on June 14, 1950 in Detroit, MI, Fahey stands 6' 0" and weighs 200 lb. He attended Union (Redford, MI) high school and was drafted by the Washington Senators in the 1st round (1st pick) of the 1970 amateur draft (January Secondary). His debut was on September 26, 1971 and he played his final game on July 31, 1983. Common misspellings of his name include William Bill billy Roger Will William Fahey.
