Bill Bruton (full name: William Haron Bruton; no nicknames) played centerfielder from 1953 until 1964 for the Milwaukee Braves and Detroit Tigers. He played for the Braves from 1953 - 1960 and Tigers from 1961 - 1964. Over 12 seasons, he played 1610 games, hit 94 home runs, drove in 937 runs, and stole 207 bases. Born on November 9, 1925 in Panola, AL, Bruton stood 6' 0" and weighed 169 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 13, 1953 and he played his final game on October 2, 1964.
