He played for the Reds from 1940 - 1941, Pirates from 1941 - 1946 and Cardinals from 1948 - 1949. Over 7 seasons, he played 263 games, hit 2 home runs, drove in 45 runs, and stole 6 bases. Born on February 22, 1911 in Paw Creek, NC, Baker stood 6' 0" and weighed 200 lb. He attended Boyden (Salisbury, NC) (All Transactions) high school.
