About Bill Almon:
Bill Almon (full name: William Francis Almon; no nicknames) played shortstop, third baseman and leftfielder from 1974 until 1988 for the San Diego Padres, Montreal Expos, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the Padres from 1974 - 1979, Expos in 1980, Mets from 1980 - 1987, White Sox from 1981 - 1982, Athletics from 1983 - 1984, Pirates from 1985 - 1987 and Phillies in 1988. Over 15 seasons, he played 1236 games, hit 36 home runs, drove in 390 runs, and stole 128 bases. Born on November 21, 1952 in Providence, RI, Almon stands 6' 3" and weighs 180 lb. He attended Veterans Memorial (Warwick, RI) high school and was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 1st round (1st pick) of the 1974 amateur draft. His debut was on September 2, 1974 and he played his final game on June 14, 1988. Over his career, Almon made $1,270,000.
