About Bernie Parent Memorabilia & Collectibles
Bernie Parent is a former National Hockey League player who served as goaltender since he started in the minor leagues. Parent came to play in 1965 in the National Hockey League when he was chosen to play for the Boston Bruins. In his first season in the league, he recorded 39 games. After the NHL Expansion Draft in which he was not protected by any team, he was acquired by the Philadelphia Flyers. With the team, he was able to appear in 62 games and was even named as the team’s top goaltender.
After his stint with the Flyers, he went to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 1970 to 1972 seasons. He also went to play for the Philadelphia Blazers, which is a World Hockey Association team. According to many reviews, Parent had his best playing years in the 1974 and 1974 seasons when he bagged a Stanley Cup championship and was named as the Most Valuable Player symbolized by the Conn Smythe Trophy. He ended his professional career after an eye injury which also made other players and hockey officials more concerned with wearing helmet and cage type of face protection. He was honored as a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee and was included in The Top 100 NHL Players of All-Time list of The Hockey News.
