Bernie Friberg (full name: Bernard Albert Friberg; no nicknames) played third baseman, second baseman and outfielder from 1932 until 1933 for the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Phillies in 1932 and Red Sox in 1933. Over 14 seasons, he played 1299 games, hit 38 home runs, drove in 544 runs, and stole 51 bases. Born on August 18, 1899 in Manchester, NH, Friberg stood 5' 11" and weighed 178 lb. He attended Worcester Academy (Worcester, MA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on August 20, 1919 and he played his final game on June 27, 1933. Common misspellings of his name include Bernard Albert Bernie Friberg.
