Ben Roethlisberger is the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. He’s been classified by critiques as one of the best passers in the game, while ranking number 9 in NFL history behind the likes of Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, and Steve Young.
Roethlisberger’s achievements continue with the Rookie of the Year in 2004, and is recognized as the youngest quarterback to ever win a Super Bowl in the NFL at the mere age of 23. Impressively, they won the championship despite entering the playoffs as a wild card. In four years from winning that contest, he led the Steeler’s to another Super Bowl win, leading to an NFL record for the most championship wins of any team. The Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers follow with 5 Super Bowl wins.
Wearing number 7 to commemorate his idol, John Elway, Roethlisberger has been likened to this famous quarterback of the Denver Broncos, since they each share similar passing styles. In recent years, Roethlisberger has been involved with traffic violations and sexual allegations which have tarnished his reputation. He’s been suspended for 6 games of the 2010 season without salary for violations against NFL personal conduct policies.
