Basil McRae (full name: Basil McRae; no nicknames) played left wing from 1982 until 1997 for the Quebec Nordiques, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks. He played for the Nordiques from 1982 - 1987, Leafs from 1984 - 1985, Red Wings from 1986 - 1987, North Stars from 1988 - 1992, Lightning in 1993, Blues from 1993 - 1996 and Blackhawks in 1997. Over 16 seasons, he played 576 games, scored 53 goals, and made 83 assists. Born in Beaverton, Ontario on January 5, 1961, McRae stands 6-2 and weighs 210 lbs. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 5th round (87th overall) of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.
