Babe Dahlgren (full name: Ellsworth Tenney Dahlgren; no nicknames) played first baseman and third baseman from 1935 until 1946 for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Boston Braves, Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Blue Jays and Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Red Sox from 1935 - 1936, Yankees from 1937 - 1940, Braves in 1941, Cubs from 1941 - 1942, Dodgers in 1942, Browns from 1942 - 1946, Blue Jays in 1943 and Pirates from 1944 - 1945. Over 12 seasons, he played 1137 games, hit 82 home runs, drove in 470 runs, and stole 18 bases. Born on June 15, 1912 in San Francisco, CA, Dahlgren stood 6' 0" and weighed 190 lb. He attended Mission (San Francisco, CA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 16, 1935 and he played his final game on September 3, 1946.
