Art Houtteman (full name: Arthur Joseph Houtteman; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1945 until 1957 for the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles. He played for the Tigers from 1945 - 1953, Indians from 1953 - 1957 and Orioles in 1957. Over 12 seasons, he started 181 games, won 87 games, struck out 639 batters, and had a 4.14 ERA. Born on August 7, 1927 in Detroit, MI, Houtteman stood 6' 2" and weighed 188 lb. He attended Catholic Central (Detroit, MI) high school.
