About Ara Parseghian Memorabilia & Collectibles
Ara Parseghian is a retired professional football player who also worked as a coach for a few teams after his playing career. He started his National Football League career as a thirteenth round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Parseghian did not make an effort to be part of the team’s active roster and instead signed with the Cleveland Browns. With the Browns, he made his debut in the national league and served as the team’s defensive back for the 1948 season. He also played as a running back for his parent team. His last season with the team came in 1949. He had to finish his playing career after obtaining an injury which affected his performance. He ended his playing career with 44 carries and 33 receiving yards, with 166 yards and two touchdowns logged.
After his playing career, he began working as a team coach for the Miami University team and eventually earned the head coach position in the school. He also did the same job in Ohio State University and the Northwestern University. He became famously known in his career with the Notre Dame University after he rose the team’s winning percentage to .836 and gave them a record of 95-17-4. He worked for the Notre Dame University for eleven wonderful seasons and during those years, he earned two national championships.
