 Antonio Pierce is a retired professional football player who served as a linebacker for his entire National Football League career. He hails from Ontario, California and is a former college football athlete at University of Arizona. Before his celebrated career with the Arizona Wildcats, he was a star football player at Paramount High School and spent the first two years of his college life at Mount San Antonio College. He had 77 tackles and three sacks in his fourth year with the Arizona football team. However, he was not immediately drafted for the National Football League because of his size and instead was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Redskins in the 2001 season. In his first year in the league, he was able to appear in 16 games and started eight of those games. He ended his rookie season with one interception and 52 tackles but failed to maintain consistent records as he appeared irregularly in the next seasons.

 

He then joined the New York Giants in 2005 and played as the team’s linebacker. However, he finished his 2005 season with 13 games played and obtained an injury which made him unable for the next three gamed and a playoff appearance of the Giants.

 

According to statistics, his highest number of tackles was 138 which he made in 2006 and became a reserve player for the Pro Bowl in that season. He finished his National Football League career on July 8, 2010 and became a broadcaster.
