Antoine Wright is an American pro basketball played who is currently lined up as guard for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association where he also played for a few other teams such as the Dallas Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors. Wright was born on West Covina, California and graduated from Texas A&M University where he also played college basketball. Wright had a phenomenal season during his freshman year, becoming a consensus Big 12 Conference Freshman of the year.

 

Despite a tough year for the Aggies during his sophomore season, Wright was able to start twenty six of the twenty eight games in which he played and was named as Honorable Mention All Big 12 player. Wright opted to depart from the Aggies after his junior year to join the 2005 NBA Draft. Wright’s pro basketball career began after he was drafted by the New Jersey Nets during the 2005 NBA Draft being the first round pick of the team.

 

During his rookie season, Wright participated in thirty nine games, averaging roughly two points and a single rebound in every game. At the end of the 2007-08 seasons, Wright became part of a trade to be sent to the Dallas Mavericks along with Jason Kidd and Malik Allen. On November 25, 2008, in a game against the Indiana Pacers, Wright scored a career-high of twenty four points. He was then acquired by the Toronto Raptors on July 9, 2009 before joining the Kings in 2010.

Wright also dished out 295 assists (1.0 apg), made 138 steals (0.5 spg), and blocked 72 shots (0.2 bpg). Born in West Covina, California on February 6, 1984, Wright stands 6-7 and weighs 210 lbs. He attended high school at Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts and college at Texas A&M University. He was drafted by the New Jersey Nets in the 1st round (15th pick, 15th overall) of the 2005 NBA draft.
