Antoine Winfield is an American pro football athlete currently playing as cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He was born on June 24, 1977 in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Garfield High School in Akron. He took his college education when he attended the Ohio State University and played college football as well. During his college football career, Winfield was an outstanding member of his team, in fact winning the Jim Thorpe Award in 1998 as the nation's top defensive back.
Winfield’s pro football career began when he was drafted in the first round by the Buffalo Bills during the 1999 NFL Draft One sports review says that, Winfield was considered as one of the most physical cornerbacks in the National Football League, known for his bone-jarring hits, and was ranked by Sports Illustrated as the thirty first best player in the NFL. Winfield played for five seasons for the Bills until 2003 before joining the Minnesota Vikings the following season where he made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2008
To date, Winfield has fourteen interceptions along with three touchdowns with the Vikings. One of his most memorable plays of his career was when he returned a blocked field goal for a fifty nine yard touchdown in their match on Monday Night Football against New Orleans Saints.
