Anthony Thomas has definitely made it big in the American football. This potent player of the Buffalo Bills was born on November 7, 1977 in Winnfield, Louisiana.
When he was at Winnfield Senior High School, he started off as a basketball, track, and football player. In football, he has set a record of 106 career touchdowns while he was playing running back and place kicker- this refers to a title in American and Canadian Football who is responsible for kicking duties of field goals, extra points, and kickoffs. The Prep Football Report called him the second-best running back in the country. Thomas also played college football at the University of Michigan. He was in his first year when he showed good performance to the Wolverines and gave a 12-0 record to the national championship season. He was also in college when he displayed remarkable records with 4,472 rushing yards and 56 touchdowns.
He was chosen in the 2001 National Football League Draft by the Chicago Bears. With a powerful 1,183 rushing yards, he was named A-Train referring to his power-running style. He also garnered the National Football League Rookie of the Year Award. In 2005, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a backup running back to Julius Jones. But then with his limited duty and inability to play special teams, Dallas released him in November 2005. He signed with the Buffalo Bills on April 28, 2006.
