Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on October 18, 1969, Avent stands 6-9 and weighs 235 lbs. He attended high school at M.X. Shabbaz in Newark, New Jersey and college at Seton Hall University. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1st round (15th pick, 15th overall) of the 1991 NBA draft. | ||||||
