He was drafted in 1979 by the Saint Louis cardinals during his senior year at the New Hartford Central high School. He made his MLB debut on the 17th of June 1983. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates during the spring training in 1987 together with Mike LaValliere and
Mike Dunne in exchange for
Tony Pena. He plays alongside Bobby Bonilla and
Barry Bonds while with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was last seen in the baseball field on the 1st of October 1995 playing for the Philadelphia Phillies.
