As a professional ice hockey goaltender, Andrew Joseph Ernest Raycroft is currently playing for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League. He played in some ice hockey games for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks.

 

Before he entered the junior hockey, he grew up playing minor hockey with the Quinte Red Devils of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.

 

He was originally drafted by the Boston bruins in the NHL Entry Draft in 1998 and made his debut in 200-01. He has a short-time playing with the Bruins but played the majority in his 1st season professionally with the minor team affiliate, Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Raycroft played his first full NHL season after he renewed his contract with the Bruins in 2003. He got the Calder Trophy as league rookie of the year in 2004. Playing professionally, he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2006 and began playing for them in the season of 2006 to 2007, where he earned his first shutout and won against Ottawa Senators. The Leafs placed him on waivers and bought the rest of his contract in 2008.He earned a backup position and signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks on July 6, 2009.

 

He is now presently playing with the Canucks as a free agent after he signed a 2-year contract with the Dallas Stars.
