Alvin Leon Williams formerly played professional basketball in the National Basketball Association. He is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is presently an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors. He spent his collegiate basketball career playing for the Villanova University. He was then selected as 47th overall pick in the 2nd round of the 1997 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.
After 1 season with the Blazers, Williams joined the Toronto Raptors in 1998 and played all 82 games for the next 2 seasons before suffering from an injury. He played sparingly the following 3 seasons before finally being released. On January 2007, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers for 10 days. He played with the Clippers on January 20 against the Memphis Grizzlies and on January 23 against the Milwaukee Bucks. He was not signed into a second contract. Though Williams’ career as a player was over, by July 2009 he returned as an assistant coach to the Toronto Raptors. All in all, Williams recorded 8, 717 points, 1, 877 assists, and 549 steals. According to NBA.com, he averaged 1 point per game, 0.5 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game.

Alvin Williams (full name: Alvin Leon Williams; no nicknames) played Guard from 1998 until 2007 for the Portland Trail Blazers, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers. Over 9 seasons, he played 460 games, scored 4161 points (9.0 ppg) and grabbed 1140 rebounds (2.5 rpg). Williams also dished out 1877 assists (4.1 apg), made 549 steals (1.2 spg), and blocked 109 shots (0.2 bpg) during his career.
