Allan Ramirez is a former American professional baseball player. He was born in Victoria, Texas. Ramirez took his college education at William Marsh Rice University in Houston, Texas. Before joining the major leagues Ramirez was drafted twice in the amateur draft but did not signed. One was on June 3, 1975 when he was drafted in the 23rd round by the Philadelphia Phillies, and the other one on June 6, 1978 when he was drafted in the 10th round by the Texas Rangers.
Ramirez started his professional baseball career in the Major League Baseball when he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1979 amateur draft, where he was the 5th round pick of the team. Ramirez was listed at 5 ft. 10 in. and 180 lbs. Posed as pitcher, he both batted and threw with his right. Ramirez made his professional debut in the MLB on June 8, 1983, at age of 26. From that date up to September 13, 1983, Ramirez has pitched fairly well. Even though he struck out only 20 and walked 30, his Earned Run Average was a fair 3.47. Ramirez’s defense was also perfect, not having a single error in 11 games, according to one sports review. However, after a remarkable rookie season, that was the last of Ramirez's major league baseball career. His final game was on September 13, 1983.
