Alexander Karpovtsev (full name: Alexander Karpovtsev; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1994 until 2006 for the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and Florida Panthers. He played for the Rangers from 1994 - 1999, Leafs from 1999 - 2000, Blackhawks from 2001 - 2004, Islanders in 2004 and Panthers in 2006. Over 12 seasons, he played 596 games, scored 34 goals, and made 154 assists. Born in Moscow, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on April 7, 1970, Karpovtsev stands 6-3 and weighs 221 lbs. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 8th round (158th overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft.
