Alexander Godynyuk (full name: Alexander Godynyuk; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1991 until 1997 for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers and Hartford Whalers. He played for the Leafs from 1991 - 1992, Flames from 1992 - 1993, Panthers in 1994 and Whalers from 1994 - 1997. Over 7 seasons, he played 223 games, scored 10 goals, and made 39 assists. Born in Kiev, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on January 27, 1970, Godynyuk stands 6-0 and weighs 207 lbs. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 6th round (115th overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. Godynyuk officially announced retirement on October 10, 2001.
