Alex Rios is a professional baseball player who was born on February 18, 1981. He is a right-handed batter and thrower who started his professional baseball career with the Toronto Blue Jays which drafted him in the Major League Baseball draft in the 1999 season. He started his pro career as an outfielder in the minor leagues. He logged a batting average of .352 in the 2003 season and made 11 home runs with 82 runs batted in for the said season in the Eastern League. He was also named as the Most Valuable Player for his superb performance.

He had his Major League Baseball debut with the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2004 season. He joined the World Baseball Classic in 2006 and was included in the All-Star team in the same year. After he was released by the Blue Jays, he joined the Chicago White Sox and is still part of the team as of the 2010 season. As of July 23, 2010, he holds a career record of .284 batting average and scored 100 home runs. He also logged 140 stolen bases and has recorded 1010 hits in his entire MLB career. He was named to the All-Star team in 2006 and in the 2007 season.
