 Alex Hernandez is a retired professional baseball player who occupied the outfielder and infielder positions while playing in the Major League Baseball. Hernandez, who was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a left-handed player. Hernandez was able to play for a total of two seasons in the majors and played primarily for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hernandez’ professional career started after he was signed by the Pirates during the 1995 amateur draft’s fourth round.

Before being called up to the MLB, Hernandez played for the Nashville Sounds of the Pacific Coast League and was called up during the 2001 baseball season.
