 Sir Alex Ferguson is the man behind Manchester United .Before managing such football teams as the East Stirlingshire and St. Mirren, Ferguson was striker for the Queen’s Park in 1957 to 1960. During his first game with the team, he was able to make a goal that became the reason for the Park’s subsequent win. Most remarkable was when he was able to make seven goals in a match against Queen of the South.

Ferguson transferred to St. Johnstone in 1960 and then to the Dunfermline Athletic in 1964, the same year that he turned professional. He became a top scorer in the Scottish League after making 31 goals. He transferred to the Rangers then to Falkirk and, lastly, to Ayr United before retiring in 1974.

He coached the East Stirlingshire but shortly after transferred to St. Mirren. He stayed with the team from 1974-1978. After being dismissed by the St. Mirren, he went on to coach Aberdeen, Scotland and currently, Manchester United.

Ferguson was awarded the Professional Footballers’ Association Merit Award in 2007, became the Premier League Manager of the Year for nine times and World Soccer Magazine World Manager of the Year four times.
