About Albert Pujols Autographed Magazines
Though now considered a loyal team member of the
St. Louis Cardinals since 2001, first baseman Albert Pujols actually didn’t have the Cardinals in mind as his first choice. When he was first drafted in 1999, he turned down the Cardinals and opted for the Jayhawk League of Kansas, but changed his mind when the Cardinals showed how much they wanted him and upped their offer.
Pujols played in the minor leagues for a while but quickly progressed to the major leagues by 2001. In his rookie year, he was placed in first base, third base, left and right fielder, so it was no wonder that by May, he became Rookie of the Month and eventually, Rookie of the Year with a rookie record of 130 RBIs. By 2003, Pujols was placed in first base and gave one of his strongest performances, and by 2004, he signed a seven-year contract with the Cardinals making it his permanent territory.
In 2005, after hitting his 200th career homerun,
Albert Pujols won the National League’s Most Valuable Player Award and helped his team win the World Series in 2006 against the
Detroit Tigers. This was also the year that he won his first ever Gold Glove award. He earned many other achievements in 2007, such as the Fielding Bible Award and being the first to hit 30 home runs in all 7 seasons since he started. The next year brought in more awards as well, Players Choice and Roberto Clemente Awards to be exact.
By 2009,
Albert Pujols had been named Major League Baseball’s Player of the Decade by both the Sporting News and Sports Illustrated. With his many achievements and continuing success, Pujols can only be viewed as one of baseball’s finest players.
