Al Widmar (full name: Albert Joseph Widmar; no nicknames) played pitcher from 1947 until 1952 for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Browns and Chicago White Sox. He played for the Red Sox in 1947, Browns from 1948 - 1951 and White Sox in 1952. Over 5 seasons, he started 42 games, won 13 games, struck out 143 batters, and had a 5.21 ERA. Born on March 20, 1925 in Cleveland, OH, Widmar stood 6' 3" and weighed 185 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 25, 1947 and he played his final game on April 17, 1952.
