Al Sims (full name: Al Sims; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1974 until 1983 for the Boston Bruins, Hartford Whalers and Los Angeles Kings. He played for the Bruins from 1974 - 1979, Whalers from 1980 - 1981 and Kings from 1982 - 1983. Over 10 seasons, he played 475 games, scored 49 goals, and made 116 assists. Born in Toronto, Ontario on April 18, 1953, Sims stands 6-0 and weighs 182 lbs. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 3rd round (47th overall) of the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft.
