He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. Al Simmons whose real name is Aloysius Harry Simmons was bon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 22, 1902. He is a former American player in the Major League Baseball. He spent over two decades playing the sport.

Al Simmons (full name: Aloysius Harry Simmons; Bucketfoot Al) played outfielder from 1931 until 1944 for the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, Boston Bees, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox. He played for the Athletics from 1931 - 1944, White Sox from 1933 - 1935, Tigers in 1936, Senators from 1937 - 1938, Bees in 1939, Reds in 1939 and Red Sox in 1943. Over 20 seasons, he played 2215 games, hit 307 home runs, drove in 1507 runs, and stole 88 bases. Born on May 22, 1902 in Milwaukee, WI (All Transactions), Simmons stood 5' 11" and weighed 190 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on April 15, 1924 and he played his final game on July 1, 1944. Over his career, Simmons made $159,499.
