Alshinard “Al” Harris is a professional football player who plays as a cornerback in the National Football League team Green Bay Packers. Born on December 7, 1974, he is known to play physically and in a unique, aggressive style which earned him the “Dirty One” nickname. He played high school football in Blanche Ely High School and went to Trinity Valley Community College for two seasons. He moved to A&M University-Kingsville in 1995 to become a varsity athlete. In 1996, he was included in the All-Lone Star Conference team.
Originally signed by the Tampa Bay Ray Devils, he began his professional career with the Philadelphia Eagles after being signed by the team on August 31, 1998. He appeared in the NFL one week after being waived and started seven games in that season. He sometimes played as a nickelback for the team but he concentrated much on being a cornerback.
He was able to play in the Pro Bowl in 2008 together with Donald Driver, and Chad Clifton, and his head coach Mike McCarthy and a replacement Jeff Garcia.
He also joined the Green Bay Packers and is currently in the injury reserve after the November 22, 2009 incident where he obtained an ACL injury.
As of the 17th week of the 2007 season, Harris made 286 tackles, 19 interceptions in his entire playing career.

Al Harris (fullname: Alfred Carl Harris; no nicknames) played from 1979 until 1990 for the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. He played 149 games, starting 87 of those. Born in Bangor, ME on December 31, 1956, Harris stands 6'5 and weighs 250 lbs. He attended college at Arizona State. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 1st round (9th overall) of the 1979 NFL Draft.
