Harrington was a basketball athlete at St. Patrick High School in New Jersey and was a USA Today Player of the Year awardee.
Listed at 6 ft. 9 in., he plays as a forward and was drafted to play in NBA in 1998. Originally, he was part of the Indiana Pacers who selected him during the first round of the 1998 NBA Draft and ranked as the 25th pick of the team. He began to catch attention in 2001-2002 seasons when he had 13.1 PPG and made 6.3 RPG. After obtaining an injury in the latter part of that season, he returned in 2002-2003 where he appeared in 82 games and posted a 12.2 PPG and 6 rebounds per game. Harrington also played for the Atlanta Hawks and went back to the Pacers before joining the Golden State Warriors. He was transferred to the New York Knicks on November 21, 2008.
