Adrian Hernandez is a retired professional baseball player who last played for the Milwaukee Brewers. Hernandez, who is from Havana, Cuba, occupied the pitcher position while playing in the Major League Baseball. Hernandez was called as “El Duquecito” because of the similarity of his method and quality of pitching to that of Orlando Hernandez’.
During the 2000 season, Hernandez was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent. He was assigned to the minor affiliates of the Yankees where his performance allowed him to make his debut appearance in the MLB just after one season. During the 2000 season, Hernandez was able to come up with an 8-2 win-loss record together with a 3.89 ERA. Hernandez was able to come up with 86 strikeouts and started in a total of 12 games.
During Hernandez’ debut season in the MLB, Hernandez was able to pitch against the Boston Red Sox where he was able to pitch in a total of three innings.
In 2004, Hernandez was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers and was used primarily as a relief pitcher although he did make a couple of starts as well.
