 Adonal Foyle is a professional basketball player in the NBA. He is currently playing for the Orland Magic. Born in St. Vincent and Grenadines, he attended Hamilton Central School before attending Colgate University. He played for the Raiders and set records in rebounds and scores. He also holds the record of the most number of blocked shots in the NCAA.

 

His professional basketball career started when he was selected by the Golden State Warriors during the 1997 NBA Draft. He was the 8th overall pick of the said draft. He stayed with the Warriors for 10 seasons. He wasn’t given that much game time during the 2006 season. He was waived by the Warriors in 2007.

 

Foyle signed with the Orland Magic in August of 2007 but was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2009. His stay with the Grizzlies would be very short and he would be waived in March of the same year and Foyle went on to re-sign with Orlando Magic.

 

Foyle founded a non-partisan student organization called Democracy Matters. The organization aims to combat political apathy in students of universities. He was elected into the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame in 2009. Including Foyles, there are only nine NBA players in the said Hall of Fame.

Adonal Foyle (full name: Adonal David Foyle; no nicknames) played Center from 1998 until 2009 for the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies. Over 12 seasons, he played 733 games, scored 2989 points (4.1 ppg) and grabbed 3461 rebounds (4.7 rpg). Foyle also dished out 344 assists (0.5 apg), made 264 steals (0.4 spg), and blocked 1193 shots (1.6 bpg) during his career. Born in Canouan, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on March 9, 1975, Foyle stands 6-10 and weighs 250 lbs. He attended high school at Hamilton Central in Hamilton, New York and college at Colgate University. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 1st round (8th pick, 8th overall) of the 1997 NBA draft.
