Adam Vinatieri is an American professional football player. He hails from Yankton in South Dakota. Vinatieri is currently playing as a placekicker for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. Before joining the Colts rosters, Vinatieri also played for ten seasons for the New England Patriots from 1996 up to 2005. Vinatieri took his college education and played college football as a placekicker and punter at South Dakota State University.

He stands 6 ft. 0 and weigh in at 202 lbs. Vinatieri started his professional career in the National Football League after he was acquired by the New England Patriots In 1996. He was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent to be a place kicker. He made his pro debut in 1996. Vinatieri became notable during his playing seasons with the Patriots for his career achievements; being a two-time selection for the Pro Bowl and All-Pro in 2002 and 2004, and for helping the Patriots in their three Super Bowl Championship games, the Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX. After the 2005 seasons, Vinatieri was released by the Patriots. And on March 22, 2006, he signed a five year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, to replace Mike Vanderjagt who was signed by the Dallas Cowboys.
