Adam Foote is a professional ice hockey player and is currently playing in the NHL for the Colorado Avalanche. He is the current defenseman and team captain of the Avalanche. Foote started his career playing in the NHL after he was selected by the Quebec Nordiques during the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to playing for the NHL, Foote led his team to the championships in the Brooklin-Whitby Minor Hockey Association in the 1980’s. He also played in the Ontario Hockey League from 1988 to 1991 for the Sault Ste. Marie Grayhounds.
Foote stayed with the Nordiques until in 1995 when he was transferred to the Colorado Avalanche. He helped the Avalanche with their 1996 Stanley Cup victory and also in 2001. In the 2001 season, Foote was able to post 22 assists. In 2002, he was able to make 11 goals and 31 points and in 2003, Foote was able to run a 30-point campaign.
In 1996, Foote was able to make his debut in the World Cup for Team Canada. Canada was able to bring home the silver medal with USA running away with the gold. In the 2002 Winter Olympics, Foote helped to bring back the gold after 52 years. He was also with the team during the 2004 World Cup victory.
