Adam Burt (full name: Adam Burt; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1989 until 2001 for the Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers and Atlanta Thrashers. Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 15, 1969, Burt stands 6-2 and weighs 205 lbs. He was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the 2nd round (39th overall) of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. Burt officially announced retirement on August 30, 2002.
