 A.J. Hawk is presently playing for the Green Bay Packers. He is an inside linebacker in the National Football League and has been playing for the team since the 2006 season. He was born in Kettering, Ohio and went on to attend Centerville High School. While playing high school football, Hawk was named as an All-State player for two instances.

He was recruited by Ohio State University and played for the Buckeyes for four seasons. During his senior year at Ohio, Hawk was named as the recipient of the Lombardi Award for being a linebacker. Hawk became eligible to enter the 2006 NFL draft.

During the draft, Hawk was chosen during the first round by the Green Bay Packers. During his rookie year, Hawk was able to prove his worth as a player early on and was selected as an NFL Rookie of the Week in October 23 following the team’s victory against the Miami Dolphins. After a November 12 win against the Minnesota Vikings, Hawk was again selected as an NFL Rookie of the Week for the second instance. Hawk was named into the first team of the NFL All-Rookie team and finished fourth in the voting for the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
