The Saints Fuel Sales

When did you start believing in the Saints again?  Was it when they drafted Reggie Bush, when they beat Atlanta in that emotional homecoming, or when they destroyed Dallas in prime-time?  Whenever it was, the Saints are now making believers out of almost everybody and that means big business.   

Lake Charles resident Darrel Driskell makes his living selling sports memorabilia, but this football season is special even for him.   Driskell says, "I have followed them all my life since I was a little boy."  Darrel is talking about the New Orleans Saints, a team that is closer to winning the Superbowl than it has ever been before.  This is a milestone that is turning into record sales as the team continues its march toward Miami.         

Driskell says, "The Saints come off a bad year, so a lot of stores, including the Saints own store and the companies that make products, did not make a lot of extra products for the Saints."  The shortage in Saints products has not stopped fans from buying just about anything they can get their hands on.   More Saints memorabilia is already on back order and stores like Retro-Sports in Lake Charles are bracing for another flood of customers if the Saints pull out another victory this Sunday.

To give you an idea of just how big Sunday's game is between the Saints and the Bears, individual tickets are now selling for an average of $800 on the Internet.
