Texas Stadium Memorabilia Rolled Up, Out

It was state of the art in the early 1970s, but Texas Stadium is now a relic. The Dallas Cowboys have played their final game in the venue and over the weekend, those who bought items in the stadium memorabilia auction stopped in to pick them up.

The Cowboys have already made over $245,000 from the stadium's contents and that figure should go higher when the team sells leftovers in a few weeks. Pieces of lockers, section, directional and concession signs, photos, banners, pieces of the goal posts and wall around the field, Texas, U.S. and Cowboys flags flown during games and autographed memorabilia will be sold then.

But late last week, they were tearing out seats and rolling up turf while fans loaded goods for transport to their collector rooms, basement bars and offices. The Dallas Morning News was there to capture it.
