KANSAS CITY, Mo.—
Opening day at Kauffman Stadium is five days away. If you have spring baseball fever and can't wait, you can see some great Royals items near the Truman Sports Complex. It's part of the Clean Sweep Auction/All Sports Road Show.
Fans and collectors are bringing in their Royals memorabilia like a 1949 autographed KC Blues poster, baseball cards or game balls.
Tony Sabestinas is the vice president of Clean Sweep Auctions. He says not everything is worth a lot of money.
"It's not just the Kansas City teams themselves," Sabestinas said. "Kansas City was also a stopping off point for so many teams ."
Jim Anderson had some Athletics' autographs that were worth a few hundred dollars. But items from Municipal Stadium were worth more in memories than money.
"My grandfather had taken me to a ball game," Anderson said. "I was standing down by hurricane fence, and the fence almost came up to where I was. As the guys went by, I handed them a ball and they all signed it. I figure I'd give them to one of my kids and then they could decide what to do with it later."
You may not have a $4,000 baseball signed by Lou G., But you probably have something worth some money If you do, bring it in. They're at the Holiday Inn across the street from the Truman Sports Complex. They're open Sunday at 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
