Showing Off Slugger Auction Items

Hunt Auctions has been busy in Louisville.  The company’s annual appraisal fair inside the Slugger Museum continues until Saturday’s live auction event.

Online bidding is already underway for the 700+ lots set to be sold to the highest bidder.   Among the items on the block:  a 1903 Cy Young autographed baseball bat attributed to the first World Series.

Other notable items available for bid include a historic Babe Ruth autographed 702nd Home Run baseball, a 2009 New York Yankees World Series Ring, and dozens of vintage game used bats, jerseys, photos and baseball cards.

Bidding on the Ruth ball has already surpassed $30,000.  It’s marked as home run #701, but was later discovered to be the 702nd of Ruth’s 714 career round-trippers.

Hunt is also offering the collection of former big leaguer Vada Pinson.
