Olympics Auction Could Total 10,000 Items

Pucks and programs. Jerseys. Autographed cards. Bibs worn by athletes in competition. 



It's all going on the block in the official Vancouver 2010 auction--if it's not there already. 



Organizers worked a deal with a local sports memorabilia company to help facilitate the monumental job of tagging and listing items that are being sold on eBay to help pay the bills.



Gameday Auctions will eventually place 10,000 pieces of Games history up for sale.



370 items have been sold so far, with an Alex Ovechkin signed jersey topping all bids at $1225. A Trevor Linden signed 2010 replica torch brought $1025 and sticks signed by numerous members of Team Canada have been selling for $500-700 each. 



The jerseys and sticks aren't game used, but the pucks offered in the auctions are. Dozens of pucks have been sold or have been listed since the hockey tournament began. Game-used pucks from the United States' 5-3 win over Canada will close at auction Thursday night, with bidding at $227-322 as of late Wednesday night.



Pucks from Canada's win over Norway sold for as much as $377.



A signed Sidney Crosby game-worn jersey will be the highest-priced item sold so far when it closes Friday night. The jersey from Canada's win against the Norwegians stood at $2850 with bidding scheduled to end Friday night. A Roberto Luongo jersey from the same game had reached $1500. 



A signed, but not game-used Crosby jersey was at $1025.



Over 200 items are currently in the auction, with hundreds more expected to be added, including the actual podiums from the medal ceremonies and pieces of the net from the gold medal hockey final.
