NHLPA Opens Huge Olympic Auction

You can make an opening bid on an auction of Olympic hockey jerseys starting today.  The NHLPA is continuing its ‘Hockey for Haiti’ program with a special auction of game-worn jerseys from the NHL players who participated in the Vancouver Games this winter.

Jerseys worn by the likes of Sidney Crosby (vs. Germany February 23), Alexander Ovechkin and Team USA goalie Ryan Miller will be up for bid over the next six weeks.

There are 141 jerseys being sold in all, with proceeds going to aid victims of the earthquake in Haiti.  The league has held numerous auctions for Haiti since January, offering game-worn and game-used items.

Jerseys from NHL players who suited up for Team Canada will be offered starting this week, followed by Team USA next week, then Finland, Slovakia, Russia and others through mid-June.
