NBA notes: Garnett makes the rounds at Fenway

One day after his trade to the Boston Celtics, Garnett wore a Red Sox jersey as he threw out the ceremonial first pitch, a slow fastball that made it to the plate, before Boston's game Wednesday at Fenway Park against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Celtics obtained the former MVP and 10-time All-Star on Tuesday in a 7-for-1 deal — the NBA's biggest trade for one player.

Garnett, his wife, Brandy, and a few members of the Celtics front office staff attended the game. Before the game, Garnett met Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, who took Garnett into the team clubhouse. Garnett also met former Red Sox great Carlton Fisk during the game.

"I feel like a kid in a big candy store," Garnett said.
