Lelands.com is showcasing the first ever New England Patriots Super Bowl ring ever offered to the general public.

The Super Bowl XXXVI ring commemorating the club's win over the St. Louis Rams belonged to a member of the club's front office staff. It is being offered in Lelands' current sports memorabilia auction. To date, no other Patriots' Super Bowl rings are believed to have been sold in the marketplace.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of the Pats," said Lelands' President Josh Evans. "It will be interesting to see how the Patriots' recent loss to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII will affect the value and interest in this outstanding piece of glitterati."

The Patriots ring is cast in 14K white gold. The bezel is surrounded with 42 diamonds denoting the team's 42nd anniversary. The top of the ring features a sculpted NFL trophy embellished with a large marquis shaped diamond and two tapered baguette diamonds.

"World Champions" is inscribed in the bezel. A Patriots helmet is positioned onto the American flag along with "14-5", the team's season record. The final score of the game, Pats 20-Rams 17 is also inscribed.

Bidding began recently with a minimum of $10,000. The ring has already surpassed $16,000. The auction runs through February 24th.
